Toddler Attack II Skate Smart Fit (Sizes 5 -10)

My friend stopped by Friday evening with her 3 y.o. son and he was wearing these adorable sneakers.  I was so happy to learn that they are from payless because then I know that is budget friendly. I had blogged about the toddler attack skate shoe a few months ago. This is the next verson which is also a comfortable shoe.

This shoe is made out of faux leather upper. It closes with a velcro strap. The toddler skate sneaker is part of payless smart fit line of shoes which are built with tried and true technology. There is wiggle room for the toes and easy on and off.

Available at payless.com. $14.99.

Tsukihoshi Speed (Sizes 8-12)

I just love this brand. My friend bought her daughter a few pairs of tsukihoshi sneakers based on my earlier recommendation.  She loves that she can safely buy any style of this brand and know that they meet my seal of approval. She also told me that she notices her daughter walks and runs better when she is in her tsukihoshi sneakers.

This week, I picked this style because I have been looking for a gold sneaker for my younger daughter. I plan on ordering these for her. She will love the pink and I will love the gold. Both mom and daughter will be happy and her feet will be comfy.

This sneaker tends to run wide so probably better for a wider foot type. It closes with a hook and loop closure. There is green tea infused insole to prevent the growth of bacteria. The sneaker is ultra light weight and ultra flexible.  Also comes in pink, purple, blue and silver.

Available at zappos.com. $47.20.

Ecco Kids Vail (Sizes Toddler 10-Youth 3.5)

Sometimes I have a hard time picking boys’ shoes since I have 2 daughters. This shoe to me is a no brainer. It’s sporty, dressy and so cool. I love the titanium color but it does come in black too.

Ecco was founded 40 years ago in Bredebro, Denmark.  Karl Toosbury’s (the founder) focus was on comfort over conformity. I am glad to say many ecco shoes are extremely comfortable and their styles have conformed into the mainstream.

This shoe is made out of leather upper with a rubber outsole. It has a manmade removable insole and closes with toggle lacing.  The beautiful detailed stitching may justify the higher price for this shoe.

Available at Zappos.com. $85.00.

Dr. Marten’s Alloy 10 Eye Cap Boot (Sizes 6-9)

Dr. Klaus Martin, in Munich Germany, invented a shoe sole filled almost entirely with air and, in Northampton, England, the Griggs family had a history of making quality footwear. They joined forces and created a boot that defined comfort but was also practical. In the late 1960s, the boot was adopted by mods, glam, punk, psychobillies, goths, industrialists, nu metal, hardcore, straight edge, grunge, brit pop and now in 2011 MOMS. That is moms who still have an edge and want to remain cool while chasing their children and taking on their daily tasks.

I fell in love with this particular style boot from dr. martens. The cap of the boot has a platinum metal color while the rest of the boot color is black.  I like contradictions so I would wear this boot with an ultra feminine floral dress or skirt.  It’s also a great boot to wear in the bad weather that most of the country seems to be experiencing lately (even California for a bit but, sorry folks, lately it’s been high 70s and plenty of sunshine).

This boot upper is made out of leather and has an air cushioned insole. The outsole is made out of rubber. It closes with laces.

Children’s Place Retro Jogger (Sizes 11-5)

It’s important to measure kids’ feet every 3 months to make sure that they are wearing the correct sized shoe. I am guessing that many moms buy new sneakers in August/ September at that start of the school year so if you have not recently checked to see if your son has outgrown his sneaker now would be a good time to check.

I think this is a great looking sneaker at a great price. Of course, I like the retro style. Every boy needs a couple sneakers in his closet so finding well-priced ones is always very important.

This is a lace style shoe and is, therefore, probably better for your older son that knows how to tie his own laces (for those of you who regularly follow my blog, you know how I feel about tieing shoes for toddlers – it s a pain in the butt!). It’s made out of faux leather and suede and the footbed is treated to resist odors. The interior of this sneaker is super cushiony and the outsole is made out of rubber.

Available at childrensplace.com. $16.50.

KangaROOS Kids Combat Toddler (Sizes 5-10)

This is a great sneaker choice for girls (they are also made for boys). As I emphasized in my previous post, it is very important to measure your child’s foot every 3 months and make sure that their shoes fit them properly.  I sometimes see kids wearing ill-fitting shoes and the consequences from wearing them over a long period of time (e.g. bunions, hammer toes, mallet toes, etc.).

This sneaker is adorable, cool and I am sure kids will just love the kangaroo logo. The shoe’s upper is made out of soft mesh with suede overlays. Its sole is made out of rubber and EVA. I love that it closes with a hook and loop (perfect for toddlers and busy moms).

Available at zappos.com. $25.00.

Ugg Kids Bailey Button (13-6)

I cannot believe that the winter is half over and I have not recommended Uggs yet!  Our entire family lives in Uggs all winter long and we live in L.A.  I had a dinner party last Friday evening at my house and one of my older daughter’s friends was wearing these.  I have the exact same pair too.

As an aside, this dinner will go down as one of the most memorable dinners I have hosted. I had lit candles to helps set a nice mood.  Thank goodness everything was okay but I (not a child) accidentally dropped a napkin in one of the candles and a fire instantly erupted from the dining table.  As my husband and all the men were having a scientific discussion on the best way to put this fire out, I was single handedly blowing out a lung and blew out the fire.  Don’t worry, once the fire was put out by ME, my husband poured a glass of water on the table (ahh, the hero). So we had to reset the table, etc.  It was really an unforgettable evening. Thank goodness, again, that no one was hurt and I will be investing in flameless candles from now on.

Okay, back to Uggs!  There is not too much to say – they are warm, stylish, comfortable and come in many colors and styles.  It’s hard to pick one, so you may have to just buy two!

Most Uggs, including this one are made out of 100% Grade A sheepskin upper.  The 100% fine woolen sheepskin breathes and helps keep your feet dry and warm. The outsole is made out of eva. This shoe closes with a button and you can wear it closed or open. I like to fold mine over.

Note: once I wear out my Uggs, instead of throwing them away, I convert them to slippers.  Old, worn-out Uggs make fantastic slippers.

Available at Zappos.com. $110.00.
