Do you have one of those friends that is just always in the know? Well, for me that’s my friend Liz. Want to know about the great new restaurant, fashion designer, sale or just what happening in town? Just ask Liz.  She emailed me about Rileyroos shoes, which I had never heard of, and informed me she just bought them for her son, Oliver (an adorable active 18mos old). This company was created by a husband and wife team who wanted to create comfy shoes for kids after having their own children (well, in my opinion, they have succeeded). These shoes are a great beginning walker shoe with great styles.

This shoe is made out of handcrafter leather. They are lightweight and have leather lining with a rubber outsole.

Kenneth Cole Reaction Kids Beat Rose on (Toddler Sizes 5-12 and Youth Sizes 12.5-3) 

I saw these shoes on a girl at my older daughter’s ballet class. Of course, I thought they were super cute and comfortable. The mom and I especially love that they have a protective coating so that the sparkles don’t fall off. That’s one of my pet peeves about these sparkly shoes, so you go Kenneth Cole for figuring out an ingenious solution! I ordered these shoes for both my daughters.

These shoes are made of sythetic upper with a clear plastic coating. They close with a hook and loop closure. There is a cushioned footbed and a durable rubber outsole.

J. Crew Boys’ Suede MacAlister Boots (Sizes 8-3)

Yes, they make them for boys and dads too. I love them. They are so classic and match everything. These shoes will take you thru the fall/winter months. They just go with everything. Imagine the entire family in the same incredible shoe (thank you J. Crew).

This shoe is made with an Italian suede upper and a rubber sole. It is lined in calf skin and closes with laces. It comes in black, dark khaki, deep olive, grey, camel, and burgundy.

Easy Spirit Elga (Sizes 5-12)

Another great find from my friend Liz. Actually, Liz’s mom (it must run in the family). She bought these and claims they are so comfortable. It’s great when you can find a comfortable shoe with a bit of heel. I love to have height, as it just makes any outfit look so much better.  Especially with skinny jeans. I think these shoes are super cute. I really want to order a pair. Also check out these Prada booties.  They are so similar to Easy Spirit’s booties but 5x the price. I do love the Prada booties too but don’t want to be a label snob.

This boot is made out of leather or suede upper (depending on the color you choose). It has a rubber sole with a 3”heel and closes with laces. Available colors include black leather, grey suede, and brown leather.

Payless Basket Weave Ballet Flat (Sizes 13-4.5)

Yes, we bought my older daughter another pair of ballet flats. She rememebered these from one of our previous Payless store excursions and asked if we could buy them for her before school started. She was very distressed that she did not own a pair of gold ballet flats as she grew out of her old ones. How many ballet flats can an 8 y.o. own? She has a pair in black, silver, hot pink, leopard, brown and now gold. Luckily she wanted a pair from Payless, so I was able to get them for her. Actually, I sent my husband to a store far from our house since they were out of them in her size at our local Payless (see husbands can be good for something sometimes). She wore them already and some of the moms noticed and complimented her only to be pleasantly surprised that they are from Payless.

These flats are made out of man-made materials. They have a basket weave upper with a bow and a padded insole. This shoe has the smart fit technology with extra wiggle room for toes and easy on and off design.

Kids Adidas Gazelle Sneakers (Sizes 11-4)

Here comes Beckham jr. is all I can think of when I see these shoes on a little boy.  How cool will your son look in these?  He will score goals both on the soccer field and in the style scene.  I just love the retro look of these not to mention the hip yellow and blue color of these sneakers.  This is a great sneaker to start the school year.  BTW, do they make these for women??

The sneaker is made out of soft suede upper and a rubber outsole and sole.  It’s lined with nylex polypropylene.

Girls’ Twinkle Toe MacAlister Boots (Sizes 10-4)

The 80s are so back. I totally remember having a version of these when I was a young girl. Of course mine were not metallic with suede. This is a great shoe for the fall/winter. It can be worn with jeans, pants, skirts and/or dressed. The colors this shoe comes in are neutral so it really matches anything. They are very comfortable and can be worn to school and your daughter will easily be able to run around in the playyard while wearing them. I really think these shoes are a must have for this school season.

These booties are made out of Italian suede and a metallic foil toe. It laces up and has a crepe sole. It comes in matte silver and matte bronze.

MacAlister Wedge Boots (Sizes 5-10)

Love these!!! If you are vertically challenged, as I am, and want to run around town looking casual but have some height than these are the shoes for you. And you can match your daughter and even your husband (they sell these for men too, obviously, without the wedge). I really like how the wedge gives this masculine boot the feminine touch. They will look great with everything jeans, leggings, skirts and dresses. Boy do I want these shoes! I may have to take my chances and wait and see if they go on sale. But for those of you in a higher tax bracket or if you are not a shoe shopaholic and can control yourself and only buy a few pairs of shoes a season, than this bootie is a great choice.

It is made out of Italian fine suede upper and a rubber 3” wedge bottom. It closes with cotton laces.  This shoe comes in pewter, chestnut and elm (my personal favorite).
