Girls Xhilaration Natausha Chop Out Ballet Flats (Sizes 12-5)

If your daughter is anything like mine, she wants to wear ballet flats every day. The cut out detail makes this ballet flat perfect for summertime. They are super flexible and comfortable. I find this shoe to be better for wider foot types. They may not fit properly if your daughter’s foot is narrow.

The upper is made out of faux leather and outsole is made out of rubber. It has a cushioned insole. This shoe comes in hot pink, black and silver.

Available at target.com. $9.99.

pediped Conner Tan multi (flex) (Sizes 5-12.5)

I love this brand of shoes. My younger daughter wore them as her first real shoe (after the Robeez). This neutral color is great since it matches everything.  It’s a great closed shoe for the summer and the price is right for this style.

Pedipeds are APMA (American Podiatric Medical Association) approved, and now has the Dr. ShoeMom seal of approval. It is specifically made to be soft and flexible (one of the criteria I look for in selecting a shoe) and has a heel cushion for shock absoption. Pediped created a new Flex Fit system for some of their shoe styles. Interestingly, this shoe comes with 2 insoles so when your child’s foot grows, you can remove the secondary insole to extent the length of time that the shoe fits.

The upper of this shoe is made from fabric. It has a rubber toe cap for extra toe protection and a rubber outsole.

Available at pediped.com. $34.00.

Pazitos Madrid Tie (Sizes 8-1)

This is a pricier classic ballet flat. I love the simple elegant design of this particular style. Like I said, girls just can’t have enough ballet flats (especially my own daughter). They wear them with dresses, jeans, leggings and even shorts.

This company was started by a Peruvian woman by the name of Letty de Paz. She had been in the fashion industry for 20 years and when she moved to Los Angeles she wanted to start her own women’s fashion line. Her vision changed when she bought a pair of baby shoes as a gift. She fell in love with the excellent construction and contacted the manufacturer. She then started her own line of kids’ shoes called Pazitos, which means “small steps.”

This shoe’s upper is made out of leather with leather lining. There’s a rubber outsole.  It comes in black, patent black, pink, white and patent white.

Availabe at zappos.com. $61.20.

Old Navy Women’s Leather Bauble Gladiator Sandal (Sizes 6-11)

I bought these sandals in grey. I wore them to my friend’s store and animal clinic called the Animal Wellness Center in Santa Monica. They have a kids’ vet club that my daughters attended and I stood on my feet the entire time watching them. I have to say these shoes definitely passed the test. They are so comfortable and the other moms at the store said they were super cute.

They are made out of 100% leather with synthetic trim. They close with a buckle at the ankle. Color choices are Grey and Cream with gold baubles.

Available at Old Navy. $24.50.

Toddler Boys Spider-Man Sandals (Sizes 7-12)

My younger daughter is obsessed with super heroes (especially Spider-Man) and wants me to buy these for her (oh they are for boys? So what!). I have to admit, the price is right. They are lightweight and such a great throw-on shoe for the pool, beach, or just for short walks around the house and to play in the backyard. Older toddlers can easily slip into these shoes by themselves (a great bonus to any shoe).

They are made out of EVA, which is eco-friendly, and it has an elastic strap in the back.

Available at target.com. $7.99.

Livie and Luca Flower Sandal (Sizes 4-13)

These are just too cute. They would make any outfit stand out. I really like the quality and comfort of this brand of shoes. I think this sandal is great for summer because of the peep toe style that protects little girls’ toes and the flower detail is an added bonus that most little girls will just adore.

This shoe is made out of leather and has a rubber sole. It closes with a velcro strap.

Availabe at garnethill.com. $48.00.

Ugg Australia Double Stap Leather Sandals (Sizes 13-6)

I love Ugg sheep skin booties and practically live in mine in the winter and so do my daughters. I was curious if their sandals and other shoes were just as comfy. They are not lined with sheepskin but these boys sandals earn my seal of approval. This style is so classic yet sturdy for the active boy. It can be worn dressy (even with a blazer and khakis) and casual (shorts and t-shirt).

This shoe’s upper is made out of pebbled antiqued leather with a rubber sole. It closes with a double grip tape closure. It has molded suede foot bed (just adds to the comfort).

Available at Saks.com. $60.00.

Toms Harbour Women Cordones (Sizes 5-11)

How can Dr. Shoemom not like a company that donates a pair of shoes to a child in need with every purchase? I love this new style of Tom’s shoe and, of course, they are super comfortable. This is a great shoe to run around in and would look great with a pair of skinny grey jeans and a tank top. It has a cool edgy style. I find that Tom shoes are better for flat narrower feet.

This shoe is made of canvass upper with a leather covered insole. It has elastic straps and can be worn with or with out laces (I prefer without). There is an arch and heel support. The outsole is made out of rubber.  The colors it comes in are charcoal, blue and white.

Available at toms.com. $69.00.

Payless Fiona Flower Flat: (Sizes 12.5-4.5)

“No Alexis, please don’t wear your hot pink flower flats again.” I bought these for my older daughter months ago and she wants to wear them EVERYDAY!! She loves the hot pink tie dye style. So cool.  I saw that they went on sale and had to blog this week about it. They are similar to last week’s mom’s pick so you and daughter can have matching Payless flats (I won’t tell anyone). They are very cute and can be worn dressy but are comfortable enough to play, run and climb.

They are made out of man made patent upper with a jeweled flower detail. This shoe has the smart fit technology which means extra room for the toes and easy on and off. It is a very light weight shoe (perfect for travel) and has a skid resistant outsole.

Available at payless.com. $9.99 (reg. $14.99).

Crocs Boaz (Sizes 4-13 Toddler and 1-3 Kids)

This new Croc is AWESOME. I love it because it’s a full shoe and not a sling back so there is extra support. I hope that camps will allow kids to wear this Croc’s shoe style because in my opininion it’s such a perfect camp shoe. My whole family lives in them and they are my favorite throw-on summer shoe. I really like Crocs for kids with a high instep.  Croc is having a promotion right now that gives you one free jibitz with your shoe order (how fun!).

This shoe is made from Crocs trademark croslite material. There is a washable mesh which can also be removed for waterplay. It closes with a hook and loop. There are holes for jibbitz. This is a great fun shoe and, of course, very comfortable.

Available at crocs.com. $39.99.

Siaomimi Mary Jane (Sizes 4-12)

I was picking up my girls from school on Friday and this pair of shoes on a young girl ran right by me. They caught my eye. “Stop that child I must know what shoes she is wearing!!”  Luckily, she was my friend’s daughter so I was able to check them out without freaking her out. I fell in love with these shoes. They are perfecly gorgeous and incredibly comfortable and I never heard of this brand.

I did a little research and found out these shoes were created by designer Hilda Yim, a Parson graduate and past designer of Anna Sui and DKNY. After she gave birth to her daughter in 2006 she decided to design childrenwear. “Siaomimi” is her daughter’s nickname.

This shoe is handmade of lambskin leather upper and skid-proof rubber bottom. It comes in bronze and red and closes with a velcro strap (button purely decorative).

Available at littlebeanshop.com. $60.00.

New Balance Classy for Nine West (Sizes 6-10)

Every mom needs a sneaker to chase after their kids and I like this one. I love that it was designed exclusively for Nine West. New Balance is a great company and I really adore the color combinations of this style.

This shoe is made out light weight jersey nylon upper and rubber outsole. It comes in grey/orange, light grey/green and light grey/pink.

Available at ninewest.com. $44.50, after 50% discount at checkout.

Payless Flower Sandal SmartFit (Sizes 10.5-4.5)

On Friday, my older daughter took the day off from school – we called it  a “mental health” day. Every year, I allow her to take a day off from school for no reason. We realized that the school year was nearly over so Friday was the day. Of course, she had to come with me to a shoe store to find this week’s picks. We loved this sandal.  She tried it on and told me it’s super comfy plus ADORABLE plus they are having a buy one get ½ off 2nd shoe sale.  I will be recommending a mom shoe (see below) from Payless too so there’s your other pair.

This shoe upper is made from faux leather with a skid resistant outsole. There is a padded footbed which makes this shoe extra comfy. All payless smartfit shoes are built with tried and true technology which means there is extra wiggle room for toes, easy on and off and a durable design.  This is a great, affordable and stylish girl’s sandal just in time for the summer.

Available at payless.com.  $14.99.

Vans Old School V Core (Sizes 4-10 infant/toddler and 10½ -4 toddler/youth)

Take these off the wall and place them on your son’s feet.  My friend’s son has these shoes and I had to blog about them. She says he loves these shoes and when he outgrows them she orders another pair in a bigger size. This is the original skater shoe.

Vans shoe line was started by Paul Van Doren who wanted to sell shoes directly and cut out the middle man. It was started in 1966 and in 1976 skateboarders discovered Vans and requested they be made in various colors.  In 1976, Vans came out with the 1st era in red and blue sole that was designed by 2 professional skaters. This craze spread across the nation and everyone started wearing Vans. They are still around today and have made quite a comeback. I know all you moms out there who are my age remember the movie “fast times at ridgemont high” when Jeff Spicoloni a California surfer dude wore a pair of Vans.

This shoe comes in red, blue and black. The upper is made out of canvass with a rubber sole. It closes with 2 hooks and loops and has a padded collar and tongue.

You are never too young (or too old) to join the Vans culture.

Available at zappos.com. $30.00 (infant/toddler), $35.00 (toddler/youth).

Juicy Couture Charly Grecian Sandal (Sizes 1-4)

This is another super comfy, stylish sandal for your juicy girl. I had previuosly recommended the onika sandal by juicy and was debating between the 2 styles. When I saw that these went on sale at Saks, I had to blog about it. This style also reminds me of the mom’s kork ease sandal from last week’s picks. I think this sandal is classic with just a bit of an edge that will satisfy both mom and daughter.

The upper is made of vegetable dyed leather and there is a leather lined footbed. The sole is made from rubber. This sandal closes with a buckle and strap. It comes in a gorgeous pewter color.

Go to Saks online and take advantage of the sale before all the shoes/sandas are sold out (yes even in this economy).

Availabe at Saks.com. $52.50 (reg. $75.00).
